Western Ontario Outlaws Extreme Lawntractor Racing
October 9, 2016 @ 2:30 pm
Western Ontario Outlaws Lawn Tractor Racing was established in the fall of 2006 as a family friendly activity. There’s no prize money in the sport, called the “poor man’s NASCAR,” and machines can reach 160 km/h with engines having from 8 to 90 horsepower and costing from $500 to $5,000 to build depending on the racing class. Each year the club financially sponsors a charity of their choice and for the past three years this has been the Petrolia Food Bank.
The club provides a lawn tractor racing venue at its track in Petrolia as well as at fairs and special events including the Sauble Beach Racetrack, Thamesville Threshing Festival, Thorndale Fall Fair and Brigden Fair for 2016 in addition to the ten regular Sunday afternoon events at our home track. The Outlaws will be featuring their race on Sunday afternoon in the Heavy Horse Ring following the horse shows.
